Guys I don't know if my wolf is eating, I think he ate at least once which was a 3" gold fish. But i never see it eat, iv been only trying feeders for just to at least get it comfy eating, but the fish swims in his face and he doesn't even react. Should i be worried?!

How long have you owned the wolf? Also tank conditions would help. Size, temp, etc...

Its a 90g, im keeping it at 80°. His room mate is a 11"Oscar. All levels seem normal, iv had it for a week today

Try feeding during the day (dont leave food in overnight hoping he'll eat). Also try and find out what his previous diet was, and mimic that until you can break him off onto your preferred prepared foods. If hes not eating live foods, there may be an underlying problem. Just keep trying twice a day everyday, eventually he'll eat.

i always feed my wolf fish + other fish during the night. It's when the wolves are most active. you will need to ween your wolf off feeders. It'll take quite some time and patience. Starve it for a week or two and add a few chunks of talapia, shimp, or salmon. Don't worry, a large wolf like yours can survive a month without food! Your oscar might be stressing the wolf out so that might be another reason why your wolf isn't eating.

If it's been a week, don't worry. A decent sized Hoplias can go months without feeding believe it or not; it just may be necessary in order to get him/her on dead food. I also found that Hoplias does not care when it is fed, whether it's in the morning or at night.

Regardless of their fierce nature, they are still stress-prone fish. Don't worry and practice benign negligence, he will eat when he is ready.

My wolf was MP trained when I got him according to the LFS but didn't eat for the past 3 days and continue to ignore its food. It is true it will eat when its ready. I just caught him eating the Market Prawn last night.. it was awesome because its the first time I saw him eat and he did the death roll! It was nice! As mentioned above, practice benign negligence (I like the phrase) ;)

thanks a lot guys! After I lost my snakehead recently in an unfortunate he jumped out of the tank accident, im a little paranoid about my fish
