Hoplias Malabaricus "Prognatus" from Argentina
Picked this guy up a little while ago, like no Mala I've had before. Very high back and depression in the forehead, body/head shape almost looks like some variants of Mac, but the palate on this animal indicates Mala. Crazy aggressive, hand fed the second day and eats 2 shell-on MP a day. Stays in the top/mid-water and feeds at the surface; rarely on the floor. I do have a "cage" box that he sits on, seems to enjoy being near the surface/shallow water. Even at Shark Aquarium they were in low water. I have a feeling this variant is the same/similar to the Argentina Malabaricus "Pantanal," but don't know for sure.
I've also been trying to work on my photographic skills, I think these pics aren't as crappy as my usual...
