Hey guys. So, as stated in the title, i need some info about these guys. Searched online but nothing much. Anyone has them please share their experiences. Thanks in advance! And also pics required. Lol

Smaller wolf species. Looks like a mala and needs a ll count to tell the difference. Has dotted lines running across the body. Arrow head appearance of lines on the gill plate. Has been found mainly in northern part of South America and Latin America. I don't think mainy are brought in.

Probably gotta contact Jeff rapps or fugupuff to get any.

They're rare, or rarely reported. Supposed to stay smaller than other hoplias. Agree with kno4te on all accounts,

Just get a curupira. There more active and better looking imo

Expense will probably be close, due to micros being rare but demand not so high. I would only say get it if you have a tank large enough for it, it will require larger than a micro if what we know is true.

hoplias microlepis maxes out at around 12" making it the smallest
hoplias species... other than that treat it as any other wolf really. i
have also heard microlepis are more aggressive than malabaricus
which maxes out around 22" making it the 2nd smallest species of
the hoplias genus. makes a nice single fish in a smaller tank.

There is seller on eBay named exoticfish. He has a website. There's a few wolves for sale. He has 2 left as of now.

The one photo looks quite interesting and promising. So I figure I'd share. Suggest asking the seller to send any pics of the fish and see if this particular is still left. It's from Columbia. It has a description of microlepis but can't fully be determined from the pic.

Also keep in mind it could a very stressed mala too. That's all that we are seeing. Both mala and microlepis are located together and there can be hybrids.l where your not getting a true microlepis.

For comparison here's the one from below water on their fb page. IMG_0137.PNG

You can contact the seller via email thru eBay or his website and see if it's worth investigating. Good luck and keep us informed if you get it Dominic Pham Dominic Pham .
