What are the odds of survive? I ve just put this little guy with my male jag cause my filter in the small tank has problem. Well mala is smaller than i expected but It is pretty fast and already ate 2 guppies in the new tank. Just to mention the jag is pretty aggressive
i already put some hiding places like caves etc but i also have a small tank to put him in for 2-3 months. My filter in this one had some issues so i need another one. I ll prolly put water from jag’s tank and some gravel , also bacteria to give him better chances
Update? I had a mala in my large predator tank and it got its ass kicked by my alligator gar pretty fast so I moved it into my Jag’s tank. Big mistake. The Jag tried killing it almost immediately. Ruptured one of its eyes. Was swimming around with it sideways in its mouth. The jag is probably 7” and the mala is probably 6”. Now the mala is in a hospital tank alone until he can fatten up and go back to the predator tank. The mala was bigger than I expected when it showed up but it’s temperament was a lot less aggressive than any other I’ve had. Now that he’s alone he’s a voracious eager though. Basically long story short. Yours seems pretty small and in my experience jags will kill most tank mates if the opportunity arises.
Well , i gave it a try but it was not doing well. I rehomed my mala to get bigger in smaller tank and currently it is doing fine. The jag is a badass and try to kill my mala. I hope in 1 month they can live together since the mala is double size
