Hoplias!

I've read that too, then I've seen tanks w/ mala, curu (not full sized, I'm guessing he plans on separating as I would once the hoplias gets too big) and big fat reds so it'll probably have a lot to do w/ tank size and hiding spots. If it doesn't work out I love my red (bloody face) enough to give him his own tank. I'm not planning on trying it until my build is done. Shooting for 7x2.5x2.5.

Also the fact the reds will be much thicker then the young hoplias for a while may help fights not to break out, I get my preds on dead foods before they go in the main to help lessen aggression

It might be a problem with bloody face being well established that could be the problem. I know once pain got comfortable nothing was allowed in the tank. Even the other fish that had no competition like the jd I had with him. I was surprised the jd died on its own instead of being killed
