Mala, I believe as already said. Though can't be 100% sure without under jaw shot. Females tend to be thicker.

What other type could it be. I haven't seen any type if wolf fish in the market in last two years here. One night I went to this fs for "grocery shopping" and was surprise two see four mala's. Next day checked with other stores and they have them too. Two types mostly wolf fish and black wolf fish. Can't seem to see any difference though :cool:

A lot of species or popping up, but if you paid a low price it's most likely mala, the others aren't to common, so little is known as of now, thought they're coming into the trade slowly. But it's most likely mala going off of those pics. Don't want to get your hopes up.
 
Any of the other species will be at least $100+. Unless they get something else besides the malabaracus by accident. That just doesn't happen often AT ALL though.
