Last night I went to my local petco to adopt a cat for my wife.
While we were there I ended up picking up a "THe Ultimate Gravel Vac" Made by Lee's Aquarium & Pet Products.

I was speaking with a salesmen there concerning the different brands they offered etc,

While looking at the box their is a specific picture, *located below*
Stating "Look for these Ultimate GravelVac REPLACEMENT parts at your local pet store. I didnt not capitalize the word replacement..they did.
Noting the metal adapter, the salesmen assured me that it would be inside. Because after all...a "replacement part" is something that comes with the original package. It didnt say "accessories" etc.

I get home and open it up and sure enough, no part #11585 ..aka metal adapter.

So I notice the box isnt very well sealed so maybe it just fell out.

I call the company up "lee's" and proceed to have the utmost ridiculous conversation with not only the customer service rep but the "controller".

I point out that not only is it listed as a replacement part on the box...but when you get on their website...it says the exact same thing.

Needless to say they refuse to assist or help and anyway and were extremely rude and sounded completely offended that I would even be calling to "bother" them.

In all fairness I was made aware of a content listing on the bottom side of the box in very small lettering, which had EVERY other piece listed on the side except for the small medal adapter which is the piece in question.
SO my bad.:p

....ya.

Just be aware that it doesn't come with it I suppose, when considering different gravel vacs etc.

Because not only does the store NOT have it in stock but now I have to spend more on order/shipping etc. :irked:

that box looks like mine but i don't have any metal thing on it

I made my python out of spare parts (I had the tubing and connectors..needed the pump). I bought the Lee's replacement pump...within 3 uses the plastic adapter stripped. I went to a few hardware shops before I found a metal replacement, but now I've found the pump rather shotty. It seems very cheap...it's leaked from day 1, the pump is hard to push up and down...and it seems to waste a lot of water. Even when filling, water comes out of the bottom of the pump. I'm going to look at another brand. I started using buckets again, I don't even want to think about trying to do water changes with that thing.

I think that's the key ... the metal part is not part of the standard kit, it is a "replacement" part for when the plastic adapter breaks ...

either way, no excuse for rude customer service ...

Mine didnt have any metal piece but everything I needed was in the box. The connection to the faucet does leak but doesnt matter cause it leaks into the faucet anyways. But I only use it to fill the tank, I found it faster(and better suction) to drain if I connect it to a regular hose and drain into the tub or down stairs(second floor apt). If you disconnect from the blue pump thing it connect right to a regular outdoor hose

Ya after 5min of writing that and 10min of driving down the road I just went down to Ace hardware and spent 6.79$ on a metal adapter.

But seriously,

In todays world to be randomly rude when your supposed to be a customer service rep/manager......

nyways point of this post was just to inform MFK'rs if they go to purchase from this company/equipment line.

I'm sure even the lady with a mustache would agree thats a valid reason to post.

Anyways, I had this thing too and had to buy the metal adapter from osh. The faucet thing would leak when I filled it up, and had barely any flow. That pos is back in walmart.

I think that you can find the part that you are looking for with python because i had one of and found them to be interchangable but I would think that they would have at least sent you the part so that it would work correctly.
