If i get a LMB(I'm gonna catch it with a rod), would it do better in the lake water i caught it from, just filtered, so its clean or should i just use normal water?

Don't bother hauling home lakewater.

All of my native fish are in normal dechlorinated tapwater even though they came out of local waterways. If you want to make sure it will be ok test the water that you get him out of the figure out the PH and make sure it's not extremely off compared to your water at home and acclimate accordingly.
LMB aren't exactly sensitive fish though so you shouldn't have any problems.

I would recommend you get a small young of the year specimen. Will be much easier to get on pellets. Also will adapt to tank life more readily. Mine ate the first day home.

okay...plus they have a less chance of dieing of stress if they're younger...and i surely wont have a hard time getting one because the previous owner of raphla fish lures put a whole bunch of LMBs in the lake i live on to test his products

Sounds like a good plan, good luck. My LMB eats Omega One And Hikari Biogold Pellets.

Cast nets are a great way to catch really small ones 2-3" fingerlings if you don't want to use a rod and reel. Also probably a bit easier on the fish then hooking it ~Trent

Definately go with the smaller bass. I tried a larger one one time and he did not do good.

LMB are very hardy and tough fish. Once my whole tank got ich and LMB was not even affected.

I regularly feed mine the Hikari Biogold Pellets like wurm, plus crawdads, worms, and rarely a frog.
