Aesculus hippocastanum

A large beautiful flowering tree that covers itself with white blooms this time of year. Awesome as a specimen tree, or an unusual bonsai. Gorgeous fall color, and the leaves are large and unusually shaped with five sections. The flowers are followed by CUTE prickly balls.

Offering babies that are perfect for working with - approx a foot of new growth on the strong rootstock with their first pair of leaves.

$10 each shipped, ten for $75 shipped.

Not sure why they don't upload the first time around?

Here are pics of the tree, leaf, seedpod, flower.

How well do they grow in northern climates?

santoury is from mass. so i would assume they would do fine?

Spotfin,
they do well in northern climates, and yes, the parents of the babies are in northern Mass.
In Maine you should not have problems, but if you keep them outside, you probably want to protect them the harsh winter for the first year or two. You might experience some dieback, the first couple years, before they can really take off, depending on how far north you are.
I had a baby outside all winter and it has come back the past two years with no injury. (Unprotected)

hmm new bonsai project

Yeah, they would be really cool, especially if the leaves kept getting smaller over time.
