Horseshoe crab care questions

First I’ll mention, you’ll want to make sure they are legal to keep in your state, some states they are illegal to keep. If allowed then you’ll want a big tank for them as they do get very big, upwards of 2 feet with the tail and an easy 16”+ across their shells for full grown adults. Next thing to know is that they forage in the sand and are constantly sifting and burying themselves. Without the ability to fully bury themselves in sand, they will not be happy. This is a natural defense/hiding mechanism they’ve adapted since their only protection is their shells. You’ll need to specialize feeding by burying their food in the sand as they are natural foragers and not hunters. Looks like you’ve found website so you’ll be able to get the info from there, just wanted to give my thoughts since I am frequently accompanied by them when I go out clamming and have researched about them some because I was fascinated by them. I hope any of this helps and good luck if you keep them!

First paragraph the abstract will give you some good parameters, section 3.1 and 3.2 and section 4.2 therapeutics for medicines. There isn’t much info about medication. They do say invertebrates so possibly invertebrate safe meds could be used
