For the past two weeks I've been trying to figure out what's going on with one of my two *small* sun cat fish. The smaller one seems to have incurred a a series of scars across his body, from dorsal fin to nose, and today- when returning from work it seems like the "eye" spot on his/her side seems to be sinking in.. The other EXACT catfish I received at the time (yes... from Pet-morte) was fine (no spots or noticeable distress, but a light bit larger) and seems to have NO distress or changes to his physical appearance to my notice.
The water reads fine at minimal alkaine, nitrite, nitrate levels... the other fish are doing just fine... (5 platys)

Help??
Pretty please??

Hi there, sorry about the lapse in time.
The tank has some slate it in, but it's sharp edges are either deep in the gravel or butted against the glass, so it's not really available for him to have gotten stabbed on. His condition worsened, until basically his spot sunk in so far I think I could see into his body!

He passed this morning. I am taking out the slate incase it was the culprit, this will leave the other catfish out of the same fate.

:(

Thanks for your reply!!
