I curently have a hospital tank setup. its running a box filter and an airstone.
I'm treating a pleco in it. battling fungus.

its uncycled tank, would it be a good idea to add some old media from my other tanks?
one concern is , i might introduce some bacteria while trying to heal my pleco.

also thinking if it will be beneficial to have a small driftwood in it?
it currently has 2 small caves.

pleco is 1-2 inch and the tank is 20 gallon, so thinking ammonia should not rise quickly.

In my opinion

I would add some old media to the box filter, the good bacteria will help

But Water charges are going to be your friend here, i would do 25-50% daily (make sure your treat the new water and temperature match new water to tank temp as best you can).

Drift wood wont hurt, it may give the little fella somewhere to hang out while getting better
