hospital tank

whats the minimum tank size i can use as a hospital tank for say a 6" fish?

I have two 10 gallon tanks for hospitalization because most medication is labeled for 5 or 10 gallon increments which makes medicating very easy. I dont have any fish that get too big that a 10 would be too small to house a fish for a week or too. I also have a 20 long for quarantine that i use for adding fish.
