Hot ballast

Yep... exactly as the title says. Not burning to the touch but if I touched for too long maybe it would. I don't have it on 24/7, just maybe 8-12 hours a day at most.

Are they supposed to get that hot? I unplugged for now.

ballasts get hot. its what they do. Using the energy to take 120v to 600v makes some heat

lots of people put small fans on their ballasts to keep them cool. but getting hot is completely normal.
