Well i got a few really nice pieces of driftwood a couple days ago and ive been soaking them but they are nowhere near being ready. I was wondering if it would be ok to Hot Glue them to a piece of slate rock. Will the hot glue be toxic? Or does anyone know another way to kep these driftwoods down without laying a heavy rock on top?

thanks :)

zip tie them to a rock.....or just let it float for a while

how long does that usually take. I got driftwood in one of my 55G thats been floating for 2 weeks :/ its still not going down

also, do you know if hot glue is toxic, or could i use like Tank sealer to attach them?

Don't use glue. anchor them down with a rock on top, or tie them to a piece of slate. they will eventually sink but it may take anywhere up to a month.

Why not?

Hot Glue is not toxic and is aquarium safe when dried/cooled... The downside to it is that it dries very stiff and brittle...

I would use silicone before I used hot Glue... as it cures semi flexible and isn't brittle at all...

Zip ties are a good idea too though...

i say zip ties because they can be cut off easily when it's sunk. i had a big piece take 2 months...silicon would work but it takes a few days to dry. zip ties bro...

Fishing line is another option.

yeah i just worry about things getting tangled up and cutting themselves since it's so fine...
