Well, I have this new awesome 600 Gallon hot tub that I never use, it has a heater built in, so I was thinking, could I use that as a "hot tub pond"? I want to host ID cat/shark in it...

If you do not use that hot tub anymore sure why not. If your hot tub has different level high , then you use it to decorate with aquatic plants. However , I don't know about the heater built in and the strong jets in the tub. It will kill your fish if you accidentally turn it on high.

yeah i would worry about the strong jets and the heater malf... lol your not the only one. i always thing what if i turned my pool tto a monster pond lol

The Full sized pool even better. Regular pool has to be maintain by chemical and there is no fish waste so the filter kinna simple. Turn it to a large pond, it need a large combination of pressure and bio filter with extra UV light . You are talking about $2000 or more for the cost of the filter . Plush if you leave the pool as it, then it does not looking good. It need a lot of plants to decorate around the edge of the pool and some in the pool to make it look nature so your fish happy. Big pond is mean Big responsibility. I under stand why your parents did not let you do that. It is a big deal to convert a full sized pool to a Pond. Don't worry. if you like big pond and big fishes, do like me . I just go visit Science Aquarium or people how has big pond. This way I don't have to be commitment to all that work and money. You can walk away with all that work and money whenever you don't like the pond or fish anymore.

freeloader jk lol i agree with him but i have always wanted to do that 2 if i ever get rich i am goin big

My friend just offered me a free hot tub and I was considering the same thing. I decided against it because I would have to replumb the whole thing and I am way to lazy for that at the moment, especially when you can get the intex pools pretty cheap this time of year.

Forget fish...I just saw a pair of Snow Monkeys for sale...the ones that live in the hot springs...

Yea, I picked up a 2689 gal intex for $49. Now my wife is confused why I want to spend money on pumps and filters.

She thought that was all that was needed
