Anybody else buy a house specifically to hold a monster fish tank? My next house is going to have a walk-out basement with french doors so I can easily put in a 10 or 12 by 4 ft tank. :p

no but i know some people built fish houses

I want a daylight basement on full pad with a slight slope awy from one side of the house but with the drains at a higher level than the street sewers. I have known several people who refused to buy any thing that wasn't pad foundation and single floor because of thier tanks, and met one guy who was building a house designed around a fishroom that was to contain 6 large tanks and a 12'x16'x3' central pond. The blue prints included dedicated power and water lines just to serve that room, drain channels and bilge pump built into the floor and an adjacent 12'x16' pump and filter room, as well as small room for a back up generator. I met him while putting in a retaining wall near his small outdoor pond in the house he was living in while they built the new one. Isn't money nice?
