Deiffenbacia below, about 5 ft tall

Dieffenbachia roots in the tank.

Dieffenbachia stem, the PVC near it is 1" schedule 80 (if I remember right)

Monstera below with roots in the sump.

Umbrella plant (Papyrus) also works, but the root ball can get out of control, I had it in a 125 gal sump, and the ball took up a 3rd of the tank.

After the roots overwhelmed the tank, it was moved the Papyrus to where the washing machine drains in the yard, and is now about 6 ft tall.
Great for soaking up water, in a swale where water collects


Works great in ponds, although in the most of US needs to be brought in for the winter
