I am thinking of picking up a 155 bowfront for my south american lungfish. This tank is 2 feet wide in the middle and only 16 inches at the ends. Could I put a jardini in here as well or is the tank too small?
the Jardini will be good for years, unless it's already large. just cut the feeding down to once or twice a week as soon as the jardini gets about a foot.
Well to be honest I think it would be too big at a foot, I was going to suggest upgrading once it reaches a foot. Jardinis are less flexible than silvers, a tank that's only 60 inches wide at that ends would be too small for a jardini much bigger than a foot.
A 180 (6' x 2' x 2') would occupy about the same footprint as a 155 bowfront and probably be cheaper too. That would provide much more turning room than the pinched-ended 155.
How big could it get in a 200 gallon tank? Would that be able to house it? I also found a 200 gallon for sale. It is not a great deal, but I feel that I could probably negotiate it. Also rumblesushi when you said i need a 60 inch wide tank is that a typo? ( i am not trying to be a jerk, but that just seems huge)
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I won't lie I kind of like silvers more then jardinis and I knew one would not be an option in the 155. I would imagine they are still big for the 200 assuming that it is 24 incehs wide. Would a silver be possible or just stick with a jardini. Thanks
