i am working on fish room for my rays. drywall hung, electric done, new set back being talked in to sump for basement do to the condition. so know i should have plenty of time to think things threw about filtration and housing. i am thinking of custom tanks plywood or acrylic. i am thinking 96"x48"x24" or 96"x36"x24" i am planing on building two the bigger the better i agree, however if i made them x48" it sure would take a lot of floor space. so do you think motoro's would be happy in a tank 36" wide after all they can reach up to 20" if i am not mistaken. its like my tank in the living room it is 18" wide and i wanted to go with a tank 24" wide 6" may not seem like much but i am so glad i went with the smaller tank it makes a big differance in floor space to me. a penny for your thoughts.

m/f motoro 9''
m/f motoro 6"
f motoro 14"

I would go with 48'' wide. I have seem some large motoros in a tank 96"x48"x24" and the big female made it looks small.

Yeah it will take up more floor space for you like you said, but in the long run I think you will be much happier and I know your rays will be.

Yea I agree. Bigger is better.

48" even that i feel guilty with my 50cm long male motoro.:( I would love to have a tank like TDF with a bit of glass or acrylic at the front. BTW how big is your tank TDF.
