Possibly looking to get one 4" tig tonight but have a question.

Well the main one is where to house it, I have a 90gal tank with 2 10"-12" Imperial loaches, 3" Goldie pleco, and a 3" royal pleco, the tank is bare bottom with a few pieces of driftwood and filtered right now by two magnum 350's, also have a decent sized power head going.

The loaches very rarely come out and when they do it's for a split second just to get some food, do you think I would be safe to house him in there or better off putting it in a smaller tank till he's bigger?

I do have a 20 long with some tiny Dats and a 3/4" L46 also a 15 gal with another imperial loach that's about 4"-5", that I could possibly put him into I'm just afraid that he'd get ahold of the Dats and L46.

The tig is already eating pellets and frozen.

Smart man. I'd keep the tig in the big tank in a breeder box or something, FYI.

Thank you that's one thing I was thinking of doing or just cutting off one side for it.

If the tig is already eating pellets you are ahead of the game. There are much more experienced Tig keepers here as I have only owned one but from my experience, at a small size, they are not good hunters. I kept mine in a 120 gallon all by himself and tried to feed him every food under the sun to no avail. I finally just threw in about 100 rosie reds (he was about 2-3" at the time) and figured that sooner or later he would catch one or two. He ate them all but it took a long time. They grow very quickly and he is now about 8" or so (not counting the streamers) and just started eating pellets. If I were to do it all over again I would keep a baby one in a 20 long until it was eating pellets and grew to 8" or so. I need to get my guy to get to about 12" before I can put him in my big tank so now that he is eating pellets hopefully he his growth will speed up. I honestly feel that I hampered his growth when he was young by having him in too big of a tank and he couldn't get as much food as he would have if it was in a smaller tank. They are an absolutely beautiful catfish. Best of luck with him if you decide to get him.

This is the best option the water conditions are harder to keep spot on in a 20gal

Well got home and put in the bag to start acclimating him and get the divider put in and happen to notice it floating around:(.

Other than that I did come home with a few others, 10"-11"endeli, 10"-11" Lapradi, L091, L204, L090, and a L026.
