Is there a FW or SW ray (I am open to either) that I can squeeze in the listed dimensions.

How many and what kind? They would have to be in there for life. If there isn't anything then how big would I have to go past 48" for tank length.

nothing freshwater.. and im pretty sure nothing saltwater.. but there may be.. not sure

Scobina, Histrix or Reticulata MIGHT work in there for a very long time.. not really sure how a 24-30" total length animal will handle being put in a 48" box..

Cortez and Yellow stingrays for Saltwater stay smaller, and might work as well..

Most your common FW rays will get 36-48" total length, so for a lifetime it might not be the most suitable..

Buy a pup and you can get at least 3 years out of most rays either FW or SW...just my opinion and im sure people will contradict me

I think you could do a male brown ray (humerosa/orb/motoro/yepezi/sp peru) for a LONG time. There is a pet store I got to with a 12x5 pond and they have had a male humerosa im there for YEARS and its only like 12" disk and less then 20" overall.

Its really odd actually. They have two flowers (about 12") three retics (about 8"), the humerosa, a castexi about 14", and a giant male motoro around 20" but he was a trade in. None of the fish have seen tobe growing too much in the years I have been going there. The fish are in a HUGE pond with an excellent filtration system and are fed a ton.

it could be a grow out for several years.... the blue spotted stingray might be a nice salt ray for it...... that's better left for the salt gurus in the sharks and rays forum.....
