has any one housed any yellow perch before

Any one

We always had them at the hatchery where I worked including several in display tanks like you would keep them in a home aquarium. Did you have any questions about it?

Hey, I've got 4 4" yellow perch living in a 56gallon column tank. (i should have gotten a long tank because they need the room to swim)
They are really friendly and eat meal worms minnows shrimp. any questions?

I used to catch baby crappy, bluegills, perch and the occasional walley. Wild fish will eat anything, and are very aggressive. It is not advisable to keep them with domesticated fish, as it is their instinct to kill al competition. Also, if you are planning on feeding them goldfish or minnows, don't overfeed them. They will kill all of the minnows, and only eat a few. Before you know it, you will have a tank filled with dead rotting fish. If you have any more questions, email me at bono14yellow@yahoo.com.

i will have a 55 laying around soon so i was going to put them in that i was going to catch them from the pond near me i have cought them before i am looking for info on the water qualitys and what to feed and what the temp should be do i need a heater any and all info would be really great thanks

a 55 should be OK for 1-2 Perch. Not any longer than 4-5". If ou want them larger- maybe a 180 gallon will work.

A 55 won't work for perch for very long. They can get over 15".

Get a BIG tank to start with. In warm waters they grow fast and get somewhat aggressive.
Good looking fish and pretty smart too. Easily trained to be hand fed and "tame".
Wish we had yellow perch over here. We only have the other kind (redfin/european perch), basically the same fish.
