How accurate is this method?

I've heard that for female flowerhorns, there should be black on the top fin above the body. Is this method accurate? Sorry for the pics. Thanks

Generally this is accurate for ZZ and KML. If it has a dorsal flower then its a female more than likely but there are sometimes females that don't have them. You also run into males with dorsal flowers but this is rare. Yours is likely a female.
