I have been thinking of getting one for my 130 gallon with Texas cichlid but I don't want a fish that just hides.

I don't think they hide but they're not active, they're usually perched off of something like waiting for food to swim by.

IDK if the cichlid may present a problem to LSN but LSN are generally not hiders because they believe they are masters at disguising themselves as floating sticks, which works the best if there is driftwood and/or tall plants around and a lighting that is not bright, rather dim or at least filtered / shaded by plants, furniture. Also quite spots with little current. They also do better in a group of about 6+... and please you much more too in a group. A loner is a gamble - you may end up with a shy, poorly feeding hider indeed.

One of my points was that you can make it feel relaxed and behave closer to natural if you do certain things.

But if by saying you don't want a fish that just hides you meant you want an active ~ full time swimmer, then perhaps LSN won't fit the bill because it is an ambush predator.
