I was actually surprised how my armatus' are very active. all 3 of them. i cant even get a clean shot when taking pictures. i thought theyd be more of stationary. even when full, theyd just stay still for a couple of mins then back to cruising the tank..

Im wondering if its just mines or this is a normal characteristic of this fish..

ive heard of cruisers b4

the only time mine ever cruises is when its hunting, chasing me, or when its stressed 4 some reason.... other then that, he sits pretty still...

A while back someone posted a youtube clip of a large armatus in a tank and it was cruising the tank like it was looking for something. That was one of the images that got me hooked on them.

When I had mine they were all very still in still water. Crank the flow up some and they would start cruising. I had Mag mounted power heads all over the place at one point to keep the water churning, and they seemed very healthy and active in there.

the one I just got off Chris is pretty still for now. I'll be adding more flow to the tank and possibly upgrading the powerhead to get more flow here shortly.

Mine seem pretty active, but it could be tankmate induced. They do seem more active in turbulent waters like return jets as opposed to more evenly distributed returns like spray bars.

mine was pretty active, whether or not he was in the flow.
he would hover in one spot for a few then swim a lap and repeat.

all 3 of my armatus cruises the tank constantly.. with or without current, hunting or full. im surprised..

I just got 5pcs n my guys are like reg Armatus... pretty chill, but still need to give them some time to get comfy in their new temp tank.

There were a few of them left in the tank at IA's that were non stop cruisers... looked pretty cool.
