I was wondering what kind of aggression a red/rainbow wolf fish exhibit? Is the aggression like that of a flowerhorn, chasing and biting the other fish until its demise? Or, does it only eat fish that can fit in its mouth? I ask because I recently bought a beautiful ornate bichir at about 8 inches and I wanted to pick up a 4inch red wolf. 65 gallon grow out tank until they are big enough for my 220gallon. I don't want the wolf fish to kill my ornate. Any info much appreciated....thanks

you will get a lot of mixed answers. some will tell you that it would be similar to put a chainsaw in your aquarium and turning it on. other will say if it fits it gets killed. I've never personally kept wolf fish(i really want to) but i talk to a lot of folks who keep or have kept them. also the red wolfs are only said to reach a max size of 8".

yup depends on the personnlity or the keeping habits. i got a 8 inch wolf who was fed dead food and pellets for his entire life. When i bought him home to put with my four 3 inch bichirs, the wolf didn't hurt them but the bichir actually gangbeated the red wolf. The wolf did nothing to fight back. I had the seperate them. Just feed the wolf dead food for around 3 months and then put them with your fish. Make sure your fish are simalar size with the wolf. Just to be safe. you don't need a 220 gallon the house a wolf fish that only going to grow to 8 inches. 65 gallons is exellent for solo.
