I have kept three specimens of A. adonis.

The first one was a calm fellow that never even harmed the bichirs that he lived with and grew with. This one I lost a few years ago

I got two small ones together, out of which one is a ring and a docile one.

Then there's this specimen.

He even killed a B. rouseauxii, a few months ago.

not sure if they are similar to commons if so my 12 incher is very docile at most he trys to attach to the side of my oscars but thats it
That's slime sucking, is bad for the Oscars, they can develop skin infections.

Do you feed him specifically, perhaps he is missing something in his diet. I agree any attempted slime sucking is red flag city

That's not slime sucking, that's "heck-off, you're doing me a bother" bites, haha.

My Acanthicus hystrix gets angry at food. They are just rage. Raw territorial instinct at its best.

Why were the Arowana swimming so low?

I agree with celebrist celebrist about possibly missing something or just territorial.

It gets a good diet and supplements as well.

This one just doesn't like anyone near sunken food during feeding time, everything that touches the floor belongs to the Adonis.
