How agressive is C. Bleheri?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they are pretty greedy but i wouldn't call them aggressive. they will jump at food if you dangle it over the water and even nip at your fingers (painless) if they think they are worms but as far as hunting down live food i find them to be quite lazy. they will go after guppies but will not chase them around the tank like other channa.

OK I am looking for a Channa that will grap food when its in the tank - not when it swims by if you know what I mean - but I only have room for a small size like the Bleheri?

yeah like i said i rarely feed my live but they will snap up a guppy or ghost shrimp from time to time. they just won't hunt it down like say a red.

I hear gachuas are pretty mean as far as dwarf channas go but I haven't had the chance to keep them yet.

Theres a vid floating around on youtube of some dwarf snakeheads eating some frogs, and those buggers were pretty damn aggressive. As far as catching the frogs, they were certainly active and moving around.

So you would choose Gaucha over Bleheri for agressiveness?

I have had both, and if you are looking for an aggressive fish a dwarf sh is not the choice. Go with a flower horn or midas if you have the tank space..

Midas or Flower horn? Could you please elaborate? I am not familiar with those?

I pt have 2 large Belonesox Belizanus. The are fun but I am looking to get something new. I have had Pyg Nat before but want to try something different.

Thanks.
