Hey everyone. I just wanted to know how flowerhorns are graded? I don't ever seem to get consistent answers. Why are some low grade and others high grade. Exactly what are the looking at or looking for. Some are considered low grade but I think that they look just like high grade flowerhorns. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, the Doctor.

fhs are graded on many things. body shape, color, head, eyes, flowerline,(markings), tail, finz.

But what are exactly are they looking for in the different body parts?

lots of things. Long fins, large KoK, nice flowerline(althought flowerless FH's and semi-flowerless can be beautiful too), double flowering makes a beautiful addition to your FH, blood red eyes(unless its a kamfa), sometime FH's get a small flower under its eye called "dragon tear"

Here is my A grade FH at only 3"

and go to this site for all the info of FH's u need http://www.flowerhornrus.com/

body should be wide and not elongated
kok should be round and big
fins should spread and should look stiff
color should be intense

others:
markings/plums should be straight or no markings at all
flowerhorns with pearls and metallics are always preferred.

this is what i know.

i could be wrong. :D
