i thinking of picking up a new pump that would do at least 1200g/h. came across the lifetech AP4660. just wondering if anyone here us this for their wet/dry? how do they compare to other pumps? they are cheaper than getting a quiet one 5000, mag 12, or eheim1262. please give input.

I have used the lifetech powerheads with fair results, and currently I have 2 AP 2800 powerheads. They use stainless steel shafts and nylon/graphite bushings.
Check to see if the pump you're considering has a steel, or ceramic shaft. Even though they are low cost, I would shy away from a return pump that didn't have a ceramic shaft. Replacement parts are impossible to find for me, so also consider them disposable... ;)
I see they draw 145 watts too...:WHOA:
The QuietOne 5000 draws 110watts and produces 1330gph and is UL listed all for 99bux...AND available at your local PetSmart...that's only 20 dollars higher than the lifetech? should be a no-brainer...IMO
