how are ORV's shipped?

Depends on the species and size.
Short answer is BIG pools. Look at some of my old threads, I've got a few about moving sharks all over the US. You'll see some pics of what I'm talking about. Also check out the Shark Album in my sig.
Here's moving some non-ORV from Saltlake City to Minneapolis. Took about 1,000 gallons of water, compressed medical grade O2 and some other stuff. Same set up (basically) moved 2 adult green sawfish from Australia to Minnesota.

In my Shark Album there are pics of moving a bull shark pup up to New York. Smaller shark had a smaller transport. Same idea: 8' round pool and lots of water.
