Male convict X female parrot ftw lol that con is huge. How big is that tank? I'm curious to see the outcome but I've seen pictures. Mixed variety right there. It all depends on the genes of the fish though.

Thanks. The tank is kind of an odd size bc it was at a former fish store in a rack. About 30 gal. The con is pretty cool. Nice little bump on his head. Father of the flower-cons I am giving away. Had them in there separated bc they both got beat up a little to heal and they knocked divider down and mated

My BP x Cons turned out very varied but mostly looked like convicts on steroids. A few were kinda BP shaped but they were very sickly and very deformed. They only lived for like a year. This is the only one that looked vastly different and looked like it would fade. I ended up giving it to a friend and it jumped out to it's death.

I used to run a BP forum and here are some from one of my members. One of his faded.

Good luck with them and keep us updated. I would like to try this pairing again some day.

You should, they are fun and freaky looking fry. If you got a female fader then theoretically you could breed your own fader cons by breeding it back to male con(male bpxcon are sterile). They might not look like full cons but would be near enough. I was trying this with a BP and sajica lately but the sajica is not all about that bass and likes his girls petite.
