How bad is this crack?

The tank is only a 30gal 36x12x17

I got it from a friend as a trade. I am pretty sure I did this damage. What should or could I do to fix it? I am thinking of putting silicone on the outside to help and smooth it out. Could I use it?

It's outside and I am going to fill it tonight and let it sit.

Fill it outside and see what happens. Personally I would use it, I had a tank exactly that size that had a 10cm crack but extended out along the back further, I just siliconed a small glass plate to it for strength and it held up great.

Here is what I did on my 90G when it had a rather small chip than yours. Since the height on this was 2'. I was a lil sceptic of just letting it stay there. Also, it was an eye sore.

I took an aluminium L bend and stuck black vinyl on the outside and glued it with 100% silicone. Looks neat and is strong. I did it in 04-2012.
