How bad would it be?

I have a 180g with 12 venustus and a few peacock. I need to break down a 90g I have stocked with 40ish mbuna. If I move the mbuna to the 180, how bad would it be? I can't find a lfs to take them. I have a lot of rock, so I can make half the tank full of hiing spots for the fish.

They should be fine but you will probably need to upgrade or add filtration to the tank.

The 180 has two AC110's right now. I will move the FX5 over to the 180 and add a via aqua 750. That should be enough. If not, I have other filters I can add.

Your mbuna are not the worst, but I would still watch it. The peacocks can become stressed. If the venustus can meaning big enough and they will eat your smaller mbuna.

im currently awaiting a 225g and i have haps mixed with mbuna in a 75g. I had to set up my 30 long as a growout to remove fry from my 55 gallon i was using as a growout, because the mbuna were being to aggressive nipping fins and actually killing my iceburg ahli. just a thought dude.
