enid, ok
i currently have a 125 gallon tank set up in my living room with fish in it. the floors are concrete and im going to put in new linoleum wood look floors. question is, how is best way to move the tank a few feet to put the floor under it? my thought is, i have an empty 150 gallon in garage that is getting set up after the floor is in, soooo, im thinking of doing the side of room where the 150 is going, set it in its spot and siphon half water from 125 into in then transfer the fish, siphon rest of water over and move the 150, finish floor and move water an fish back over. or does anyone have any better ideas or suggestions? the 125 is a 5ftx18inx2ft on a wood stand.

Put a empty tank near by, use your filter to move the water to it so its light enough to move.

do your thing.

move back the water and voila.

Empty 125 into 150 using filter intake in one output on the other works best with canister filters

Put fish in a smaller tank or bucket(s) out of the way clear of room or transfer into 150 Wich should also be out of the room

Move 125 out and setup flooring

Transfer water and fish into 125 if they in the 150 with water if not just transfer water back into 125 so you can now move the 150 into place

Once in place fill your 150 and place fish into your new tank with all their prestablished water...

It's probably best to use a bucket or smaller tank to reduce stress on the fish use an airstone and heater and you can leave them for hours

Sounds like a pain but it's the best way of keeping all your established water and switching out the 125 for the 150 in the same spot while replacing the floor
