Ok guys...

Currently I have two regular sized tanks with regular community fish, which I love but you know, always on the look for next tank, next cool inmates etc...

I've been seduced by the pure insanity of the snakeheads...

A guy locally has for sale one channa argus and two channa stewartii...

I dont have the tanks to house these guys, so I'm buying a tank to suit them etc... Can any of you channa keepers let me know what sort of tank I'd need for these.

I'm not looking to buy all three fish, either the two stewartii's or just the one argus....

Would be greatful if someone can enlighten me on which size tank I'd need for them two? or the other one?

Do I need re-inforced glass??? I showed my girlfriend that national geographic clip someones posted on the video lounge and now she think's its gonna escape and walk three rooms into her bedroom lol (I wish...) she said if I get a snakehead she's leaving me... I think the snakeheads much more intresting lol

Be greatful for any info. :)

Hi

Well, if you are going to buy the argus, be prepared to get a big tank!..
these little baby's grow to 1 meter in length, so a tank for a fully grown fish should in my opinion be around 240x120x60,but bigger would of cause be better!
You can always start with a smaller tank and then upgrade as the fish grows..
An advantage in using a grow out tank, is that it is easier to feed the fish.

As for the stewartii, it is one of the smaller snakeheads..growing to around 25cm.
A nice tank would be around 120x60x45 again bigger is better..

As for reinforced glass..nahh, at least not for the stewatii, but when the argus gets bigger i strongly recommend acrylic!!..
My auranti makes me happy that my covers are made from acrylic!:D
