How big can a spatula gar get?

I was wondering becuz I have never had one in my whole life..... Been planning for this for a while now? But never found how big it can get in a 150 gallon tank, I might prepare something bigger.(depends on how big he will get) really looking forward to this fish!!

Ehh it doesn't matter what size tank you have or think you may get in the future tbh. That "spatula gar" is an alligator gar they get huge your 150 won't be enough in a very short time. I'd suggest some of the smaller gars like a short nose, spotted, or Florida gar. What are the dimensions of the 150?

Alligator gar will grow very large very fast.
Mine hit 24 inches in the first year.Your tank is only 18 inch
In the wild alligator gar are commonly caught pushing 7 to 8 feet.
Your tank is only 6 feet.
So surely you can see that keeping an alligator gar in a 100 gallon tank is cruel in my opinion.
In captivity most gar max out at around 6 feet. And this is with excellent care and feeding.
Still the same length as your total aquarium.
