how big can pacus get?

yeah teds pacu is huge... i hope to have one that good looking some day but right now i have to many fish gettin shipped in that i couldnt handle another big one untill i built a new pond which wont happen for awhile...
my god!!! that was really beautiful!!! pacu's were very HUGE!!!! everything was HUGE!!!!!!! the guy who owns it is really awesome!!
they get really big really quick. honestly i dont reccomend anyone get a pacu unless they put it into something 100 gal or larger to start. i have had my pacu for 14 mos and he went from being the size of an algae wafer to 19 inches. ive read in the wild 3 ft + they get, before getting this fish make sure you have the room for it first
in all honesty you shouldn't get a pacu unless you have about a 1000 gal tank to start.. these things are a massive fish. Althought they get about 40" long they get almost just as tall and very thick.. in reality they are like an arapima. they are just not well suited for almost all fishkeepers.
That's why I always with that they would stop selling them so often for so cheap, or at least inform people that they will soon have a fish that will eat as much as them, poo as much as them, and will need a tank the size of their bedroom.
