i have heard of them breeding at 2".

k cuz i think of getting 2 for my 55gal but i dont no ow they will do with my mota in there

if they breed they will get very territorial and mite kill something. if u really want to breed them by a 29gal. tank or bigger and breed a pair in that. then feed the fry to your mota

Convicts are pretty tough. Especialy when breeding.

My convicts are in a 10g and so fasr they have breed 2 times within a 2weeks. The female is 2 in and the male is 1.5". Here are sum pix. They are very protective parents. when i get near the tank too look for babies they rish to them to protecte them. so they might attacfk your other fish after breeding

Convicts will spawn in a neglected bucket of water. They will spawn at 1 to 2 inches and up.

Most likley your motoguense will hold it's own against convicts but why risk it? Your motoguense is pretty cool and fairly uncommon, convicts are worthless and very common.

IMO convicts are good for cycling an aquarium or being a constant supply of feeders.
