How big do hoplias malabaricus get?

Has anyone seen a huge one in a tank? 20"? Just want to know the max size

around 50 centametres so around 20 inches.

20 inches is very rare and probly very hard to grow to that size. 16 inches is a good estimate for them in a tank.

Mine is gettin' real close to that 16" from a 4-5" lil' guy to a very robust 15+" in 1.5 years. Although he's slowed quite a bit in length, his overall mass has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. I wouldn't be shocked if he hit 20" or more in his lifetime but I have not seen one that large.

16-18 inches is possible and ur guy will be as thin as an forearm, A pic would be nice

16" is the usual max in the aquarium. There have been a couple of larger 20" but I believe they were captured at that size
