how big do hybrids get?

it all depends on the genes it gets...to tell ya the truth most only get about 12" before ignorant owners kill em. but they should get around 3.5'-8'. that's right i've actually heard em getting 8' from meat fisheries.
 
Is there really a hybrid from rtc and tsn, it doesnt seem possible???????????/
 
It's really a hybrid of the two yes. I have one at 3', have seen pics of them caught in thailand at 4', but have never heard of the 8'. That seems ubsurd. They grow similarly to both rtc and tsn
 
I'd put 4' as the real world max on the RTSN (Redtailed shovelnose...I named another one...lol.)
 
I think 4' is a good MAX number, but remember........ not all fish grow at the same pace. Some get huge, some dont. I dont think the hybrids have been around long enough to say they ALL get 4'. I bought two at the same time and one grew twice as the fast as the other. Same system, same food. I think you can safely assume 2-1/2-4' is a definate.

good starting point for general information and thats all any of us can really provide....RTSN's and MRTC's I'm on a roll...LOL
 
RTC don't get over 5' and TSN don't get more then a hair over 6' i don't think they can get 8' thats huge but would be cool to see one that big
