I saw a couple in a local fish store that i go to and was wondering if i could fit some into a 20 gallon along with some other community fish. the lady at the store didn't know how big they would get.

They can get to around 30"+. But are rarely seen in home aquariums at that size. Mine is around 2 years old and he is around 18"-19" now...

They need a MINIMUM 180g at adult size. Specimens reaching 30" will need larger. And "some" won't work, as they are almost always intolerant of other tankmates. There are exceptions but for the most part, after they reach 8-10", they start killing any other fish in the aquarium. Hope that helps. :D

Yup. they have the reputation of a fish killer....but luckily mine is nice enough to tolerate other arowanas and other larger fish. :D
They are a very nice fish to keep indeed, and closest to the asians that is too....

I think SH are illegal in the states.....:grinno:

Not that hard to find in WI but yeah.....:naughty:
