24” for a Florida in captivity is a fairly common maximum. I would say 30”-36” for a longnose.

How big of a tank do you have? LNG are slow growing, but can get quite large. 2-3 adults are fairly common in the wild, with 4-5' specimens well accounted for.

With a sufficiently large tank (8x4 or so), you could keep this guy basically forever, especially if it's a male as they don't get as large.

Really it's hard to answer correctly without knowing everything about the situation

hmm, I'd like to see it. If I remember correctly, the largest one ever recorded is 5ft10 in by scientist.
