I got a 6 inch female midas...and I saw a male about 7 inches at my LFS. Do you think they can breed at this size in a 90 gallon?

Introdude the male with a divider at first, so they can get used to each other.
It is possible for them to breed through a divider, but it takes alot longer.
Warm waters, lots of dithers, should trigger them going into spawning mode, once they have gotten to know each other.
