Im gettin 2x "Ocell" pbass in couple weeks, they where ordered as "Butterfly Peacock Bass/Cichla Ocellaris.

How big do they get and how long does it take if fed "well" and have good filteration in a 100g tank (as a start, then something bigger)?

Need answers asap.

wow, no answers, cmon cihla fans, you wanna see 2 new baby Ocells. Then answer me! LOL

Ok 100 gallon ok for a few months but 240 minimum for life with two ocell. They can. Get up to 24" max growth but in a year 12" easy with good feeding

between 12-16 inches in a year with good feeding etc.
then slow down.
they can hit 24 inches, sometimes slightly more,in about 3-4 years.

Ok, thanks gmorin and rox.
Rox you're the man.

Just keep in mind when you upgrade tanks that wider and longer is better than tall. In my humble opinion I would say for two adult fish 72L x 30w x 25h (inches) would be the absolute minimum. But heres the catch with Cichla....by the time they get to be adults, you very likely wont have just two lol. They are addicting as hell. Might as well just plan to buy a tank at some point atleast 96L x 30w x 25h. Even bigger if you have room! Put it this way, when I buy my next house I wont even consider it if there is not some place in the house that has room for atleast a 130L x 30w x 30h LOL and im not kidding...:screwy:
understanding C.R.E.A.M should be a requirement before buying them lol.

 so true bro.. check this out, im in the market with the wife on to buying a new house, and im not buying a house which cant accomodate my 6x3x2.5ft and future 12x3x3ft tank!

My 2 peacock bass have grown about an inch a month since I got them, they're about 8" now and eat like crazy. They are in a 6'x3'x32"h tank right now but it will get crowded with the 2 rays and the aro when they all get more mature. I have a 270g tank (6'x3'x2') that I am setting up for them. They will share the tank with an endlicheri bichir, 2 oscars, a 10" rotkeil severum and a 12" tinfoil barb. That should give them lots of swimming room and hopefully they won't eat their tankmates.

The tank is 20" wide. The thing is that i cant add anything, +they are the only known of in the country.

CICHLA ROCKS!!!
