bellevue, ne
i have a clown knife that is about 10-11" and right now he's in my 75 gal tank. thats 48x18x18". i know that he is going to get way to big for this tank but right now i dont have a place for one. how big would the vast knowlege of mfk say is the biggest he can be in this tank before i MUST get a new tank. thanks in advance

id say prob 15 inches, there all tail. they can turn on a dime.

clown knives don't explore the tank very much until night.. then they move nonstop. but messiner is right on. knives are probably the most manuverable fish there is so I would say 15-16" and from my experience they slow down alot when they get to 12"

:iagree: 15-16

I have an 18" clown knife in a 55 gallon temporarily. He does ok. As he has gotten older, he swims around less at night. He has no problem turning around. I has a couple of filters to keep the water clear. It has been a few months. So short term, your guy will be fine until you can get a new tank. My guy is moving back to a 120 gallon soon but he has had some relationship problems with my royal knife. I figured he was better off in a smaller tank then constantly attacked and bleeding in a larger one.
