How big is your biggest clown loach? and how long did it take for it to reach the size it is?

I have found all my loaches seem to grow extremely slow, and that many seem to "top out" (as far as I can tell) well under the reported max size. But I have only had botia long term, and my clowns are still babies, so I am curious what kind of growth I will get out of them! They are in a 150g with lots of Botia loaches, and if they ever get big enough they will end up in my 700g...

My small clowns seem to grow fairly quick. From what I've heard small clowns grow fast and then 5inches or something in that range they slow down and the slow growth begins.

I have 8 CL's in a 150 right now. 2 of them are 4.5-5", 4 of them are in the 2" range and the last 2 are 1.5" or so. The smallest 6 have put on a bit of growth since I got them but the 5"er's havent even noticeably gained any length but have started getting the typical football appearance.

this is one of the bigger one i have... an 11"
where the biggest one in the tank is 12.5-13"
(hard to measure since it is always stay in the back of the tank)
i suspect it to be well over 5 years of age in the wild... plus at least another few years in the tank
then another 10 months with me

Amazing specimen(s).

Love how you've trained them all to sleep at the same time ;)

Lovely loaches there. You can tell they are wild caught judging by the slimline body.

Mine are all captive raised and just getting fat.

Here is my biggest one who I got a year and a half ago only, lived as a solitary loach in one's small tank for many years. He still prefers his own company despite living with another 5 younger loaches.

And this below is him again but a year and a half ago just when I got him, looking a bit unhealthy. He's actually growing quite fast considering he should be slowing down at this size.

And this below is my biggest of my first bunch of 5. I've only had them for 3 years.

And this crazy looking baby loach below will be my latest addition once he comes out of quarantine
