How big is your Black Aro?

Just trying to get an idea on how big everyone's blacks are and what size tank they are in. Thanks!

I have two, one is about 4 years old and 25". The younger is about 17 months old and at 18-19" long. They reside in a 450g tank along with two 30" silver arowana.

I read in the stickies about their sizes, apparently they grow so fast and just slow down? Or are those sizes incorrect? I can't imagine that you stunted that fish, I mean, it resides in a 450g!

1" per month up to about 14". Then after that it slows down significantly.

My last one got to about 22" in a 5x2x2' tank before I sold it.

I would have to disagree with that. Even though my larger black was an incredibly slow grower. My smaller black has maintained about an inch per month even 5 months past your 14" statement.

I don't know anything about their growth rates, thats why I was asking. I assumed for as fast as they grew, after 5 yrs one would be over 25". I just didn't know.
