so i bought two bags of CaribSea moonlight sand and evidently they now come with these little water clarifying packets. well these packets are just thrown in with the sand, like the toy at the bottom of the cereal box - whoopie, and i managed to get it out of one bag and completely forgot the other :irked: so now iv got this thing somewhere in my tank and iv torn out most of the decor trying to find it.

since im planning on trying to keep and breed cherry shrimp as a possible next project for this tank i want to make sure i havent buried toxic waste in it. should i just leave it or should i spend a day completely tearing the tank apart to get it out? .... did i mention i have a lot of sand? ... its easier said than done to sift through it all. (i mean, a LOT of sand, those 2 bags weren't the first to be put in there)

pics are bad because its a webcam but it does show how much sand i have (its a 29 gallon... about 3 to 4", it s about 70lbs of sand)

you know it would be really funny if the manufacturer accidentally didnt put a packet in the second bag... and iv been searching for something that doesnt exist

I don't know if it would ever cause a problem, but I would find it because it would always bug me otherwise.

I don't think you will have any problems leaving the packet in the sand. Now if you have the tank running for a few hundred years then I can see the packet slowly disintegration and even then, it might not cause a problem.

well i hope everything will be fine. i really dont want to have to sift through all of that sand. replanting the amazon sword would be the hardest part, no, digging it up without destroying all the roots would be the hardest part.
